Associate Professor Rishi Kotecha is currently carrying out an exciting five-year clinical trial across multiple medical institutions. The trial, called Interfant-21, stands to revolutionise the standard treatment for high-risk children with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.
The Kids’ Cancer Project has provided incredible longstanding support for my preclinical research, which has focused on improving the dismal outcome for infants diagnosed under one year of age with ALL. The funding has been vital to building a pre-clinical testing pipeline where my team and I have tested promising new drugs on unique models of the disease.
